Robert (Jack) Grandbois
BSc. Mech. Eng.

Director & CEO

Robert has over 30 years experience in the engineering and construction industry including over 25 years in the curtain wall and building envelope industry. He earned his degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Alberta in 1980. Robert started as a founder of an innovative high performance curtain wall company in the late 1980’s where he was responsible for setting up company operations such as purchasing equipment, hiring senior management, and implementing operational systems. He later moved into a senior sales role where he promoted and sold high performance systems, managed tenders, and estimated complex projects. Over the course of his career, Robert has been involved in over 300 commercial, industrial and institutional projects in Canada, the U.S.A., and Korea. Robert resigned in 2003 to become a founding Shareholder, Director and CEO of the ENVISION Group of Companies.


Garth D. Von Hagen

Director & CFO

Garth has over 20 years of business experience and completed his MBA in 2007 following a career change from dentistry to full-time business person. He has served as Director of a growing junior oil and gas company and two publicly traded companies: Blackdog Resources Ltd. (since 2005), and CV Technologies Inc. (2003 – 2004) whose lead product was Cold-FX, Canada’s number one selling cold remedy. In addition to the success of CV Technologies, he was instrumental in launching the European division of Earth Water International, a U.N. partnered social enterprise. Garth is currently serving as volunteer Chairperson of Edmonton’s Inner City Agency Foundation and is Director and CFO of ENVISION where he's been involved at a senior level with ENVISION projects including: Hotel Georgia Tower in Vancouver, the Emergency Services Station #6 in Sherwood Park, AB, and the TEC South Pedway at University of Alberta in Edmonton.

Dean Richardson
P. Eng.

Service Manager & Product Commercialization Manager

Dean is a professional engineer with more than 20 years experience. He has worked as an industrial engineer, establishing and improving manufacturing operations in several industries, including the high performance curtain wall industry. He later managed all supply-chain operations and material handling for a curtain wall manufacturer. More recently Dean has spent more than ten years with the Alberta Research Council Inc., (now Alberta Innovates – Technology Futures or “AITF”) where he led technology commercialization activities for sustainable building and alternative energy projects. He also led the negotiations on behalf of AITF that led to ENVISION’s successful licensing of SUNPHAZE solar thermal technology. Dean has since left AITF and now leads ENVISION’S Service Department and oversees ENVISION’S technology and product commercialization.

Roy Schmidt

Engineering Manager

Roy has almost 25 years experience in the glass and architectural metal industry as a Designer and Engineering Department Manager. He has been a reliable asset in the role as Engineering Manager at ENVISION and has successfully constructed a number of landmark projects throughout North America and Asia. Roy has a strong background in rain screen wall design, interfacing with other wall systems, thermal heat transfer, and a thorough understanding of Computer Aided Design systems. He brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to ENVISION’s technical team.
